What should be the law company so that you can safely entrust her with the conduct of your affairs? How can a company win high customer confidence? Probably, it should have a good name and an impeccable reputation. Not the least important is also performance indicators and a stable position in the legal services market. This was discussed with the CEO of National Law Company Mitra" Yury Mirzoev.
The law company “Mitra” has established itself as a reliable partner for a number of large organizations of our region in the field of fuel and energy complex, industry, construction. Yury, what stimulated you and your partners to do business in the sphere of legal services, to open a law company "Mitra"?
Generally, in Russia there is a high level of competition in the legal services market. As for the North Caucasus Federal District, for various reasons, legal companies do not cover a significant part of the market, and we decided that we will be able to realize one of our main competitive advantages by providing quality services within a narrow but demanded specialization, tax law. Our employees for many years successfully worked in large companies of our region and in practice proved their professional competence. Taking into account positive experience of representing interests of these organizations as in-house lawyer we decided to create the company, which is useful for many taxpayers.
Taking into account slight experience, “Mitra” is popular in the many courts and earned a name. How could you do it?
- Over the last few years our company's specialists have gained considerable experience in tax consulting and representation of clients' interests in arbitration courts of all instances. The company's clients are large taxpayers of the North Caucasus Federal District, who count on a high level of services. We are aware of the responsibility that lies with us when the client trusts our company to lead a multimillion-dollar dispute, and, of course, are sincerely glad that we justify the trust we have shown. Recognition by clients of us professionals who are able to solve a complex problem in the legal field is extremely important.
What tasks are with highest priority for your company?
The fact that our business should bring income is understandable. But for us it is important another. The concept of our business is a "nationally oriented" company. What does it mean? Our country is firmly committed to building a civil society whose existence is inconceivable without an appropriate level of functioning of state and social institutions, a high legal culture of government, citizens and business. The high-quality legal services should promote legal literacy, respect for the law in the business community, as well as representatives of government, and also strengthen the status of justice in the public eye. This is, in my opinion, our modest contribution to the development and strengthening of the authority of legal institutions, the citizen's faith in a fair and independent court.
What cases will you never take?
For a lawyer, this is a complex moral and ethical question. For ourselves this answer was formulated as follows: if a potential client does not fundamentally want to solve his problem within the legal framework, it is not our client. At the same time, the intention of some representatives of the business to avoid the law often follows only from ignorance of the law and inability to use legal instruments. In many cases, we see the possibility of successfully resolving client`s problems, taking into account the civilized ways provided for by law.
Where do things stand in Company`s labor force?
- In our business, the fundamental truth "cadres decide everything" has special significance. Our company began operating not so long ago, since September 2012. However, our specialists, as I said earlier, are not new in the profession, they have serious professional training. We can provide a "portfolio" of each of our specialists with court cases so that a potential client could form an impression of his professional level. In addition, on our official website there is not a complete list of cases that our specialists conducted. Besides, it`s not only tax cases, but also disputes in civil, land law and tourism.
What`s about losses? In which most important cases did you take part?
We don`t have exact statistics. But I can say that, for example, in the case of tax disputes, the volume of successfully challenged claims exceeds 90%. As for the significance of the cases, they are all important to us. But if we talk about large figures ... For example, not so long ago it was possible to reduce the amount of tax claims against the energy company in Dagestan Republic from 1.5 billion rubles to 3.6 thousand rubles.
How do you see a future of Your company?
Speaking of development in a broad sense, we are pushing the idea of holding an annual North Caucasus tax forum, wherever our company will be an organizer together with our colleagues, leading tax lawyers of the country. In plans - to invite as participants of the forum managers and accountants of enterprises North Caucasus Federal District, heads of tax authorities, judges of arbitration courts. The format of such event, in my opinion, will be useful and interesting for the all professional society.
The company plans to expand the sphere of legal services, which we associate with attracting highly qualified lawyers in the field of civil, administrative, antimonopoly and bankruptcy law. We also plan to open a new office in Krasnodar by the end of this year.
